530 AM...so early, Zac still had his eyes closed loading into the truck
A few months ago we went to Budds Creek Motocross track down in southern Maryland for the big moto race with the pros. As part of the dirt bike club that we belong to, we get certain perks and one of them is having the entire moto track to ourselves a couple times a year. Members only get to see what its like to ride a professional track like their favorite motocross riders. The bigger guys had the entire track to themselves, but they opened part of it for the less experienced riders and they even made a "kids track" off to the side for the little ones. Jay and the boys headed down there early and stayed overnight so they could ride both Saturday and Sunday. Trev and I joined them during the day on Saturday and brought them lunch. They had a great time, all their club buddies were there and they had a blast riding to their hearts content. Jay says he has a whole new respect for what the professional riders do! Here are some snapshots from the day...
Camp
Good old fashioned tent camping.
One side of the track
The hill on the left side of the pic is very steep, they call it "Henry Hill", named after Doug Henry who, in 1995, came flying over it way too fast and landed near the bottom breaking his back.
Other side of the track (part of it anyway).
The boys on the kids track

The boys and two of their riding buddies from the club - Ryder and Jack.
Pat is a fellow club member (and is a pilot for UPS based out of Alaska), he's Jack's dad.
