He Was A Good Turtle...

We kept Chip three days longer than we had planned.  We would probably still have him if it were not for me freaking out that he hasn't eaten or drank anything and worried that I was going to find him dead in the box.  Did some research and learned that they like to eat anything that comes across them on the ground, so went out and got him some crickets.  He didn't touch them.  Spent $6 on a bottle of crickets that is now sitting on my kitchen counter (that was my mocha money, CHIP!).  We did let him out to play each day and I have never seen a turtle move so quickly...I think he was really trying to get away.  We finally took him in the back yard yesterday and said our goodbyes.  I will admit, I thought about the little buggar last night and hope that he is okay.  The boys were sad, especially Zac, and have asked about him several times.  I am sure we will find more critters during our time here, so I try to reassure the boys that more fun is to come.  But we will never forget Chip (insert sad music here as you scroll thru the pictures of our time together...):

Chip playing dead
Scotty: "I'm not touching you"
Zac: "I love you"
Trev: "I want to throw you"
The backyard farewell
Good Luck Chip!
