End of Season :(

This first experience with Little League baseball was a blast and I can't believe it is already over!  Jay and I kept busy between both teams, and sometimes games would be scheduled on the same date and time and Jay would go one way and I would go the other.  Not sure how thats going to work once Trev gets into the mix!  Honestly, I would be happy if baseball was year round and it is sad to say goodbye for now.  I think the boys are hooked, too, and will keep playing every chance they get.  Now that they have the general idea, we can work on that as a family.  I have a bucket-o-balls in the back of my vehicle for crying out loud, we're going to play ball every chance we get!!

Zac's team had a little end of season gathering on Monday night at Chuck E Cheese...I am not a fan of this restaurant, but I have to say, Monday nights are the best time to go - it's empty!  I was late getting there because Scotty had a game, so by the time we arrived the kids had already eaten, received their award certificate and had disappeared into the game room...

Scotty's team had a dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.  This was a really good group of kids and parents.  I got to the know the boys pretty well because I manned the dugout during all the games, ensuring the kids knew where they were in the batting order, what position they were playing, helped the catchers put on their gear every inning and kept the dugout in some sort of order.  Its not easy corralling 10 little boys that is for sure, especially when there are bats and balls involved!  But I was able to enjoy the games and be a part of the action at the same time - I loved every minute and can't wait til next year!!

Token silly shot!
The team and parents presented me with these beautiful orchids as a thank you for taking care of their babies in the dugout :)  I was so surprised...little did they know, the pleasure was all mine!
