12 Years

This is the first anniversary Jay and I have spent together in two years.  At times its hard to believe its been 12 years and other times, it seems like much longer.  So much has happened since that partially sunny day in Prosser, Washington, when we were surrounded by all the people we loved so dearly.  Sometimes I wish we could go back to that day when life seemed so carefree and easy.  Now we live on the other side of the country and we have kids, mortgages, car payments and a mother in law.  12 years has brought us happiness, heartache, tragedy and triumphs.  When we said in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, in good times and in bad, we had no idea how true that would ring.  And through it all, we have managed to hang in there - sometimes I am not sure how or why, but we just do.  Truth is, as much as we drive each other batty sometimes, neither one of us can imagine being without the other.  Yes, I would love to have a clean bathroom and not be picking up after Jay everywhere he goes, but I know I would kinda miss his mess if he wasn't here making it.  Afterall, he does the yard work, changes my oil and gets the spiders so that I don't have to.  Our three boys have been the most amazing part of this journey together and I am so proud of these little guys we have created.  We are not a perfect family by any stretch of the imagination, but we are perfect for and with each other.  Here's to another 12 years of wedded bliss (that said with a chuckle...)!
Cheers to water :)
Jay has been sober for over a year now
My grilled salmon over a bed of spinach and veggie/bean mix - healthy and yummy!
Wherever we live, we always find a "favorite" place that we like to go on special occasions.  In Eugene it was Olive Garden; in Port Angeles it was Michaels; in Juneau it was the Island Pub; in Port Orchard it was Cosmos; and now here in a town called Manassas its Carmellos.
This is the reason I ran four miles on the treadmill today in addition to my Insanity workout...worth every bead of sweat.
Jay's lemon sorbet was served in a frozen hollowed out lemon peel!  So clever...
Was just complaining the other day that my iPod Nano (circa 2006) kept dying on me...so Jay surprised me with a new one :)
