I've been debating whether or not to write about my feelings toward the outcome of this election and have had a hard time coming up with the words until I read my friend, Suzanne's blog. She emulates my feelings and I couldn't have said it better myself. Thus, I will insert a copy of her blog into my own blog so that I don't have to type it. I am surprised at how passionate I became over this election and it was inspiring to see how every other American was just as passionate. Though I am disappointed with the outcome, I am optimistic in our future as a nation. Though I did not vote for Obama, I will support him because he is now my president. Politics aside, it is a time to rejoice in the fact that history was made yesterday by the election of a black man for president (though I wish he wasn't a far-left Democrat.....). I was watching a snippet of Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a Dream" speech made 45 years ago and it brought tears to my eyes knowing that his "dream" is alive and well in America today. At that time, no one would've ever thought it possible. I am glad to be a part of this history and I am so proud to be an American!!
Now, on to Suzanne's blog......

My "guy" didn't win and so I am a little worried that Obama might go radical on us, but I hope that because he'll want to be re-elected, that may keep him in check. As long as he can keep the Democratic Congress in check too. I'm not sure that he has the ability to stand up against people yet, but I do have these things to say: To Barack Obama, you have done well. You ran an excellent campaign, inspired a lot of people, and have made history. I hope you can prove me wrong and I pray that you will do a good job. To John McCain, you are a true patriot and I think, a guy who truly would sacrifice self for country. May you still serve the US well and your constituents of Arizona. To Sarah Palin, I believe you have gotten the most trash out of this whole campaign. I think you are a great role model for women and an inspiration for young girls. I'm glad you aren't done with Alaska yet, Welcome back. To Joe Biden....yeah, I got nothin'..... Thanks to those of you who debated issues with me and I hope we can continue to stay informed and involved over the years. May God Bless America and keep us safe.'

I'm still pissed but I'll mellow out in time. I didn't even want to talk to anyone today. Thankfully, proposition 8 (gay marriage) didn't pass in this state. Does that mean I hate gays? No. I just don't want the definition of traditional marriage to be changed. I overheard some liberals talking and they said, "we'll make even more changes once the people over 40 die off." Great.
