Josh was a very valuable asset to this project
(side note: the shed in the background is on the list....)
Jay finishing up railing
Stairs done, just needs lattice
Some other things that are just about finished are the master bedroom paint....

After
Other side of room
It may not seem like much, but it's the "little things" at this point that seem to mean the most as they get finished. Unfortunately, with everything in this blessed house, as we've gone to repair one thing, we've opened up an entire can of "holy crap, this, this and this needs to be fixed first before we can even start on that!". So, like I said, it's the little things like finishing a whole room with fresh paint after having scrubbed walls, sealed holes, sanded and taped off the room....to see it finished is quite an accomplishment.
A huge thank you to Jay's cousin, Zac, who is an electrician and charging us NOTHING to work on the house, we know we are saving a ton of cash knowing him because there is a ton-o-work needed for the electrical (breakers, outlets, re-wiring....you name it, it needs to be done), but he lives in Oregon and has two weekends to complete the work....he only got as far as the kitchen this past weekend.
Had to open up this wall to get to the electrical, replacing the old stove outlet and wiring for a stove hood above
All the writings on the wall are Zac's notes to self on the wiring
The plumbing is also another thing that is close to complete and thus, the completion of both bathrooms is on hold due to that work. Once that is finished, we can hopefully check off bathrooms on the list.
Plumber hard at work on the other side of the bathroom wall upstairs
Upstairs bathroom is almost finished! Floors are in, walls are painted. Just waiting on shower install and the moving of plumbing to accommodate new vanity (hence plumber). Compare to old pic...
The downstairs bathroom is also waiting on shower install before we can proceed....
At least the new tub is in (it's the little things, remember....)
