My SIL and fellow concert-goer, Nikki, and I attended the Bon Jovi concert in Seattle on Friday night. Nik has been a HUGE fan for over 20 years. Honestly, I can't claim that I am the biggest Bon Jovi fan, but I am a fan nonetheless. Back in the day, when Nikki was hanging Bon Jovi posters on her walls, I was plastering George Michael's face across my room (yeah, I'll admit it). This of course, was in conjunction with our obsession with NKOTB.
We had a great dinner beforhand at The Crab Pot on the Seattle waterfront.
This is where they dump a bowl of random seafood on your table,
give you a bib and a mallet and you have at it. YUM.
But I digress.....I am a fan, especially of the old school stuff (Runaway, You give love a bad name, Livin on a prayer, Lay your hands on me...) and I of course wouldn't pass an opportunity to accompany Nik to our
second Bon Jovi concert. Seattle was the first stop, the kickoff, of their world tour and they ended up adding a second show on Saturday because the first one sold out so fast. Pretty cool. Our seats were up high, but at least we were on the aisle. The people-watching alone was worth the price of the ticket. Between the drunk lady who apparently thought she was going to a movie with her popcorn and M&Ms, the Waldo guy (we found him!), the Village People a few rows back and the people that smelled of pot and fried food sitting directly in front of us, it was an experience! One thing is for sure, Nikki and I never have enough things to laugh about and it was just endless everywhere we looked that night. The most important part was of course the actual concert and Bon Jovi. Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty awesome. It's as if the guy never ages and what a fantastic live performer he is. Everyone was on their feet when they would bust out the old songs, but when he belted a solo of "Hallelujah", I had chills. Fantastic. And what a great night to hang with my SIL in honor of our birthday month :) Thanks Nik for yet another memory to tuck under our belts.

How awesome! I love JBJ! He was one of my first concerts at the Tacoma Dome (just a few years back...). Sounds like a fantastic time-another friend of mine said she was going to-did you see her?! She was prolly the drunk lady! LOL!
