Yesterday the boys and I had nothing planned for a change so I decided to pack up and go for an hour and a half drive up to Port Angeles. We were stationed there 4.5 years ago, in our pre-kids days, and I have been wanting to see how things have changed. Unfortunately, it was freezing outside, but the boys had fun playing on the beach anyway. Jay's old ship, ACTIVE, was out in the bay so it was fun to watch her pull in. Other than that, I don't have any pics to share of the scenery because it was so gloomy out, but usually PA has a beautiful backdrop of the Olympic mountains and when you look the other way across the water you can see Victoria BC. We visited my favorite burger joint, Frugals; dropped by the popular ol' general store, Swains; did a drive by of our old house (sadly, it is not as it was); and made a stop at the Coast Guard station to show the boys around, hoping we'd be lucky enough to see one of the Helos taking off or landing, but had no luck with that. PA holds a special place in both our hearts; we have a lot of great memories and made some really great friends in this town, so it was fun to share a little bit of it with my boys. (By the way, for all of you Twilight fans, Forks is just about an hour from this point....)

Sounds like fun and a typical winter day in Washington. Don't worry, you'll get plenty of great pictures of the Olympic mountain range in the summer! The boys are getting sooo big!! Take care!!!
Hey ~ I've been to Forks! And La Push; did I already tell you that?
Sounds like a great uplanned day!
