Zac is ONE!

I can't believe he's already a year old. I was definitely able to sit back, relax and enjoy this past year with Zac much more than I ever was able to in Scotty's first year. I always heard the second child is easier, but now I believe it. He's not only easier, but he's an angel baby. A lot more even tempered than Scotty and not as sensitive. He's going to be our "go getter" for sure. No fear. Jay and I still marvel at the fact that we have two little boys. They are so different from each other even down to their features, but they are best friends already and definitely have their own language between each other. Oh, and they can eat like no body's business. We are in for some serious trouble as they grow older. In celebration of Zac's birthday, we hosted a party at our house. We had 40 people invited but because it was an outdoor party and the weather turned sour on us, we decided to keep it indoors and reduced the guests to family only. It was a good thing because my family alone makes for a crazy gathering. And considering some of the family hadn't been in the same room together in years, it was probably best to keep the outsiders at bay. I had no doubt that it was going to be a great party, but I didn't realize how great until I was actually surrounded by all of the people I love dearly, in my home, sharing a special day with us. Bygones were bygones and all was harmonious again, if even for just those few hours. My mom used to be the "rock" in the family and she always brought everyone together. She's been gone for seven years and this is the first time since her death that everyone had really been together again in this type of relaxed setting. Not only was it a celebration of Zac's first year, but it was a celebration for the family. I feel so blessed and my heart is happy and fulfilled.

Happy birthday Zac and I'm so glad you had a fabulous day with family around! Guess who the "rock" is now? You have a peace about you that draws people to you and puts them at ease. Your mom would be very proud! You're awesome my sports sista'!!! Love ya'!! Mona

For some reason, my post won't allow me to respond to comments. I did end up buying one of the "moby" like wraps, it's called a Sleepy wrap and 90% of the time he does fall asleep in it. It is so much better than the Baby Bjorn...no pain. My friend has an Ergo that she said she will give me (I plan on paying her since they are so expensive) in a couple of months and I have been keeping an eye on Craigslist. Thanks for the advice
