Big Boys Room

It is official, all three of the boys are in the same room.  That has been the goal all along, as their room is huge, and since only three of the six bedrooms in this blessed house are upstairs, we wanted to free up the third room for a guest room so that our guests don't have to sleep down on the bottom level, in the mother in law space.  So we spent the better part of Thanksgiving weekend making that transition and I have to say, it has gone very smoothly.  Trev has adjusted well and they sleep harmoniously in there together.  Eventually Scotty will want to branch off into his own room, but for now while they are young, they are doing what brothers do and it works.
They wouldn't be boys if they weren't making a fort...
Clearing out Trev's room to make the guest room.
This actually made me pretty sad...my baby is no longer a baby
'Read to Self' time before bed - now Trev can join in
This is a beautiful sight
Its pretty cozy in here.  Mismatched furniture, toys all over the place and dirt bike pictures cover the walls. Wahrmund boys definitely live here.  Eventually Trev will work up to the bottom bunk, but didn't want to throw too much change at him at one time.

Thankful

Zac always wants to help in the kitchen

Our Thanksgiving was low key.  Last year at this time we were living in our travel trailer while waiting to move into our house, so we just wanted to stay home this year.  We finally got to cook the turkey Jay hunted in the spring and it was good...not great, but good enough.  I think I prefer to have a whole bird.  I made a few pies the day before and realized that I forgot to add sugar in my pumpkin pies, so I went out on Thanksgiving morning to get more stuff.  I am not sure you would've noticed if you had enough whip cream, but it was bugging me and I had to fix it.  However, had to go to two stores before I finally found all the ingredients I needed.  Would've just bought a pie but everyone was out of them...duh.  It all turned out okay and Scotty got his pumpkin pie.  I also have a great recipe for the perfect Pecan Pie.  Always steered clear of making those before because I could never get the middle cooked, but this recipe is awesome and works every time...Zac helped me with that one :)
Love the cold...
I made these Mayflower treat holder place-markers for the table.  Unfortunately, forgot to snap a pic of the table when it was fully set, but I made one for each of us
And here the boys are playing with the boats (and Trev eating the candy) while I look at Black Friday ads...the perfect ending to a great Thanksgiving!

Fall Yard Work

Yard work takes on a whole new meaning here in the fall.  We have so many trees surrounding us and when those leaves fall, we can literally be buried if Jay doesn't stay on top of them.  So every weekend he is out there blowing the leaves, mowing, raking and bagging.  He is lucky he has two little helpers and they do a pretty good job at teamwork.  Here are a few pics of FALL 2012.

Of course there is time for play!

Budds Creek Weekend

We headed out for our last club weekend at Budds Creek.  The dirt bike club is invited only twice a year and the next one isn't until September next year!  We had so much fun this past weekend...the weather was great and it was a nice turnout of people.  I am only just getting to know them now, but the group is so welcoming and friendly, I feel like I've known some of them for a lot longer.  We got there early afternoon on Friday and since there was no open riding yet, we took some time to set up camp and let the boys ride their bicycles around until some of their friends started showing up.  The boys and Jay rode all day Saturday and Sunday.  And Trev and I have fun walking around and watching it all, it is fascinating.  There is a kids track off to the side of the big main track that they like to ride around on.  And during certain times of the day, they open the "big" track to the little guys or the less experienced adults.  There is a kid-friendly loop that they can do, but Scotty actually does the entire track by himself.  Mind you, this is a track the "pros" ride, so it's pretty amazing that he does it alone.  It blows me away that he and Jay can ride and ride all day long and never tire of it.  Zac actually lasted longer than he normally does this time.  The highlight of the weekend was Sunday evening just before they closed down the track, Zac actually did the kid loop on the big track.  There are some pretty steep hills for his little bike to climb and he conquered them!  Jay was beaming with pride and Zac was pretty excited about it!  All in all, it was a great weekend.  I even tried on a bike for size and did my first "dirt biking" out in a grass field.  It's only a matter of time and the entire Wahrmund clan will be riding together.  Its a very family friendly sport and we are really enjoying it.

(even though it's Mario's hat, he calls it Luigi, some things just aren't worth correcting...just glad he's wearing a hat at all)

The camp site from across the track, had no idea when we bought the trailer just how much we'd be using it!  It has come in so handy with all these activities!

I love dirt
Thought this was a cool pic of the convoy of trailers heading out of the park on Sunday night...can't wait til next time!

Day at the Park with Friends

Trev, Alaina, Bella, Zac, Jake & Scotty
We met our friends, the Acosta's, for a day out with the kids.  It was a perfect day and they were out of school and we always talk about getting together, so finally we did it.  Decided to explore a park we hadn't been to yet, Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly.  We treked through the woods and over a river and the kids built their fort and played in the water.  It was a good day to get out and always fun to see our friends.
Over the river and through the woods...
Teamwork!
Alaina is such a great mother's helper!
One of these boys fell in the water shortly after I snapped this pic...
